Weekend in Review - 14-16 October

Yet another fantastic weekend in London City - a mix of old and new.

The weekend was started off with at Bar Soho with a Best in White event that saw everyone looking pure and virginal - so long as you didn't look too closely at some of them, especially the DJ (Billy Arentire aka the CandyMan) - I would have shown you all a pic of his outfit but I couldn't get a clear shot as my hand wobbled on the camera every time I looked at it.

After Bar Soho we caught the bus down to the other end of the street to Madame Lala's London Revue.  I prefer to walk rather than catching the bus, as I am an avatar not a crash test dummy.  We had a night of campness as is always ensured at Madame Lala's establishment.

For Saturday's Party in the Park we all gathered in Regent's Park with our beverages as the contest was Best in Low Lag Alcoholic Drink - an easy one for most of our members to dress for as there is never a shortage of drinks around London City.  The headline act was a tribute to Simon and Garfunkel, which was greatly appreciated by the assembled masses.  I guess Simon and Garfunkel qualify as the old I mentioned in the opening line of this post.

The audience enjoying the music and atmosphere in Regent's Park
The new I mentioned came in the delightful form (and voice) of Adevina Citron, who made her first appearance at Comptons pub and was well received by the enthusiastic audience.

Next weekend we are in for a treat as our Take That tribute will be in Regent's Park on Saturday!

Weekend in Review

What a wild weekend in London City...it will take me all week to recover!  The weekend got of to a truly hectic start on Friday evening.  Usually there is a party in Bar Soho with me as host (takes a bow), but we relocated to the Regent's Park as the party was only the start of the evenings entertainment.  So we kicked off with Best in Pink and then we had the first of two concerts - Simon and Garfunkel.  We then went from the sublime to the ridiculous with Abba!

Benny, Frida, Agnetha and Bjorn take to the stage
Saturday saw the Bee Gees take to the main stage in Regent's Park for a concert that had the crowd singing along - their vocal cords lubricated by the near infamous Soho Beer.

Yes...it's the Bee Gees resplendent in white suits and big hair
On Sunday we had our usual chill out day until a fabulous 50s party got underway at Comptons pub.  It felt like we were travelling in time as earlier in the week we had a Roaring 20s night at Madame Lala's London Revue - truly the first time I have been to an event in Second Life where everyone has sat on the bar drinking tea...  The highlight of the fabulous fifties night was a live performance from a very talented singer by the name of Brian Narstrom, who performed a selection of smooth songs to round off the weekend in a perfect style.

The fantastic Mr Brian Narstrom

Weekend Roundup

Another  fabulous weekend in Mainland London.

Simon & Garfunkel sang so very hard for their supper and it was a great crowd of nostalgic people who came to see them.

A great night with Tayla and Rolday playing some great Bar Soho sounds in Regent's Park and Madame Lala with her Barbettes playing Disco afterwards.

Sunday has just got going and to kick it off, we have just had the first Annual Mainland London Moped Race.   Congratulations to Loulou and Kam for winning the races!

Sunday night from 1pm PDT join Tayla and Rolday in Bar Soho for more weekend fun.

Next Saturday Mapoo Little returns to Mainland London, singing the songs of PINK and performing LIVE!

Thank you for making Mainland London, your number 1 London in Second Life!
