Did you see the....and what about the... oh,and the.... if you don't know what I'm talking about, chances are you missed the best bank holiday bash ever... I mean EVER!!! Non-stop party from start to finish, spread right across the most popular sim in Second Life. If there's one thing we do know...it's how to party!!!
So much happened over this Bank Holiday  weekend it was hard to keep up, good job Roving Reporter Ruby was on hand taking photos and notes so I could relay it all back to you. So buckle up, we are going on a journey......

The weekend as always kicks off at Substation, our fun club found near the hub in sim 1 Soho, Roy and his team are ready to kick start your weekend, with fun chat, and good old songs to get your toe tapping in this quirky, busy club, everyone is welcome who has party on their mind
:)

next stop
Bar Soho, both swanky and cool, this is a popular place all week long, there's a different Host/ Dj combination every night ensuring a fresh up to the minute atmosphere, with fun banter and great music, a must for all those who love to chat hang with friends and dance the night away.

@ Lala's
then onto Madame Lala's, to keep your Friday night going right into Saturday morning, Dj Fierce plays us a cocktail or tunes from every genre and era crafted into a continuous amazing fun mix, with myself as host, every Friday we rip the roof off having a fantastic time, not tried it yet? Once there you will be hooked, believe me ...

In London City, we pride ourselves on following real Life  London Events as closely  as possible, taking you, on the journey with us, so everyone from all over the world can join us and get that London feeling without even leaving the comfort of their own chair, not to mention several hundred  pounds cheaper .... isn't technology grand :)...

So, this weekend is no different. Not only is it Bank Holiday weekend, but it is the Notting Hill Carnival.
Notting Hill Carnival is Europe's biggest street festival, it's an annual event held every year since 1965, on the streets of Notting Hill. It's held over two days, on the August Bank Holiday and usually attracts around one million people, making it one of the largest festivals in the world.
So of course we wanted to bring it to Second  Life, putting our own Unique spin on it, which is why We are the most popular destination on the Grid.

Saturday 25th August 2012

As always every Saturday, we have an awesome open air event in Regents Park, be it The royal Jubilee, Gay Pride, The Olympics, Great Groups, Fantastic Bands, or like this weekend Awesome  LIVE Singers, that's right this weekend we saw the return of one of our favourite Artists, Miss Adevina Citron, this hot little fire-cracker packs a powerful punch, Adevina has such a beautiful and powerful voice she has fans who follow her all over Second  Life.

You never know what you will hear when you show up at her concert, but you will love it.  It could take you to a simpler time of early hits, a popping mix of contemporary rhythms that keep your feet tapping, or anything/everything, Adevina will deliver! She enjoys fun, cheeky banter with the audience that keeps them coming back for more, no stranger to London City, we love her concerts and so do you ,again people queuing to get  into the sim to enjoy their weekend with us.

later to Juiced in our Adult sim, this is a themed club, a new day, a new décor, Saturday whisked us to a scary Graveyard, for best in spooky, there were Ghouls, Vampires, Goblins, Zombies and Ghosts, with music to match the event, we all had a great time.

Suday 26th August

London City Victoria, has a double whamy, not only are we celebrating Notting Hill carnival, but also the opening of The Crown pub. London City is ranked Adult, so we can really let our hair down and offer more than ever before, with an adult nature, what a hoot, people are loving this sim, declaring this is the best sim in SL ( but we already knew that  :P .. ) The Crown opened its doors and what a response,  people flooded in for their best in Event, oo lala if you have a nervous disposition, you may want to read on but  looking sideways :P  fun and giggles all round.

It's the big day of The Notting Hill Carnival events started at 2:30 pm  / 6:30 am slt, in the Victoria Hub, which  had been made in to an open air concert area, kicking of with "best in come as you are"  what could be easier? Turn up, party and win Lindens .... how fabulous!! With yours truly as Dj and the beautiful Ainurne as hostess, we got the celebrations well and truly off to a banging start!!

But it didn't stop there, two hours of non stop party, straight into the next event... which was "best in Floats" residents were given the base of a  Carnival float which, they could build on, and transform into anything they wanted, ready to parade around the streets of Victoria, what a hoot,

our residents have more talent than you can shake a stick at, two prizes one for best float and one for best effort, absolutely amazing, and so funny watching everyone waddling round the sim with their creations and Fierce on the tunes, this is what its all about!! then straight into another event, it was The Crown Pubs turn to party in the park, "best in Carnival"  with Dj Torric and the beautiful Loulou as host, the outfits were amazing, people really pulled out all the stops this weekend, ( are you keeping up? we aren't even half way through yet!! ) Torric play the best Carnival and reggae music while Loulou kept us going, with fun chat.

Next up Dj Willy, again playing the best Carnival music to really make us feel like we were at the Notting Hill Carnival. Then on to our main show, we had Bob Marley and the Wailers in concert, what a blast, everyone singing along to his hits, including "Buffalo Soldier", "Stir It Up" "Three Little Birds" and many many more, Bob got off stage and partied in with the audience who thoroughly loved it.
Then it was the chance of Club Juiced to take the reigns, and take us through to 2am / 6pm slt, with yet another chance to win  Linden Dollars with a "Best in Red, Gold and Green" event, the sim was packed  full of partying people all day non stop.

Mean while in sim one Soho, Roy and his awesome team in Substation played their Sunday evening gig, with a club full of people enjoying some Golden oldies and having a fantastic time.

Monday 27th August 2012

The party continues on Bank Holiday Monday, again in Victoria, London City Adult, the hub was transformed into a hot Jamaican club, with two levels for dancing, and a pool,  complete  with diving board, the event was of an Adult nature and people flocked to take part ( I said flocked ) ... what a hoot, everyone loved it and we attracted people who hadn't been to London City before, but who said they would love to keep returning, as it was so much fun, and they weren't lying, it was!

Then later to Bar Soho, for best in Carnival, to bring the celebrations to a close, I was Dj and Willy was the awesome Host, again the costumes were fantastic, we all danced and chatted while I played a mix of Reggae, Soca, Samba and Bachata music it was an awesome night.

So that is the end of Carnival, I would like to thank all the staff who took part this weekend you guys rock!! seriously!! and to all the Resident who make it all worth while, you are all awesome xxx

and that's it from me for another week, I will see you in  London City, for more fun and frolics.
